Mr. Mid-Atlantic Leather 2018
The epic start to the year 2018 marked a deeper connection with engaging our community as Gerard competed Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend and won the honor of serving the community as Mr. Mid-Atlantic Leather 2018. He will continue his purpose of closing the gap and bridging the community ties by being who he has always been from the very beginning… a passionate Leatherman of color with an open-heart set on giving back and going to wherever the need is in our community. Gerard feels the true ability to love unconditionally can be seen by taking time out to get to know him and others in your community. He would also like for others to recognize that he’s not just all talk, but the real deal willing to share parts of his life with others because he’s grateful for living. His daily position and career focus around working and building relationships with people and major events at the National Cancer Institute handling events management. Gerard also designs leather gear for those seriously looking for something unique and he creates what he considers healing pieces and semi-precious stone jewelry (mostly bracelets) in a small business he founded called Gerique Designs. In the later part of 2018, he is spearheading a new event called The Arts in Leather, which is sure to be a success in more ways than one. This man is multi-faceted and this is only a small scratch to the surface of his abilities as he continues to embrace all around him, both near and far.
